Legends South is one of the City of Chicago’s most ambitious efforts to revitalize public housing. The project will include 2,400 mixed income rental and affordable homeownership units. Located on an L-shaped site at S. State Street and W. 45th Street, the development will include a four-story, 40-unit corridor building with 3,750 SF of commercial space and one three-story walk-up building. Complementing the apartment homes will be a small plaza at the intersection of State Street and 45th Street, designed to foster community gatherings and enhance the neighborhood’s public space. The development also includes 47 parking spaces.
